EUC Table Tennis 2025 concluded

The 13th European Universities Table Tennis Championship has finally concluded on 16 September 2025 with an exciting Closing Ceremony in Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Lavender Hill Hotel .


The ceremony brought together athletes, volunteers, organisers, and fans in a joyful celebration of achievement, friendship, and sporting excellence.

Over 12 participants from 25 Universities from 132 countries took part in this year’s edition of the event.

This diverse representation made the Championship a true display of European unity through sport, with numerous languages, cultures, and traditions converging on one stage.

In the men’s finals, the title of champion/s went to Men’s Double Sebestyen KOVACS / David MOLNAR (University of Pecs), who won a thrilling final match against Artur GRELA / Szymon KOLASA (Zamojski Academy) , Men’s Single Szymon KOLASA (Zamojski Academy) who won a thrilling final match against Rundong LIU (University of Paris 1 Pantheon Sorbonne)

In the women’s finals, the title of champion/s went to Women’s Double Golden Medal: Jiaqi MENG / Tin Tin HO (University of Nottingham), who won an exciting final match against Katarina STRAZAR & Lea PAULIN (University of Ljubljana). Women’s Single Anna WEGRZYN (Wroclaw University of Economics) who won an exciting final match against Katarzyna WEGRZYN (Wroclaw University of Economics)

Both matches delivered intense competition, loud crowds, and emotional moments, creating memories that will last a lifetime for players and spectators alike.

The medals and awards were presented by Deputy Governor of Burdur Ökkeş Faruk Karakurt, Burdur Member of Parliament Prof. Dr. Adem Korkmaz, Rector of MAKÜ Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Dalgar, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Ömer Tekşen, President of the Bar Association Atty. Meltem Özdemir, President of the Burdur Amateur Sports Clubs Federation Mehmet Şimşek, Dean of the Faculty of Sports Sciences Prof. Dr. Emrah Atay, Representative of the Organizing Committee Asst. Prof. Dr. Mert Nalbant, SCAC President György Kovacs, Portuguese Representative Pedra Mouna, Members of the Organizing Committee Yakup Köse and Lecturer Emirhan Pehlivan.

The EUSA flag was passed to was handed over to the Portuguese Representative Pedra Mouna by the Representative of the Organizing Committee Asst. Prof. Dr. Mert Nalbant and SCAC President György Kovacs.

The dedicated volunteer team of over 30 local and international students played a key role in ensuring that the event ran smoothly from start to finish.

Audiences also enjoyed cultural side events, local hospitality, and the celebratory spirit that surrounded the city during the Championship.

SCAC President György Kovacs expressed his gratitude in his speech, thanking the organizing team for their support and friendliness.
